Art and Sol

This is a new show I am getting ready for Fall in part of art and sol.  Here is the wed site http://fallin-glbr.com .  If you are around check it out.  I ordered 10,000 Leds but my solar panel can only run 1300 so hopefully I can continue on and cover a room with them.

Glow Worms Influence

This is a is a series of leds lined up together to fade in and out based on how close some one is and the red piece at the top is the larva that changes as well.  This is a small mock up of what I would like for it to become.  My hope, like the cave piece, is that it could become a large installation.

This is some work I presented at NCECA.

This is an interactive piece that represents nature and our affect on it.  So as you get closer to it the pieces sense you and start to change from white to yellow to red and then begins to pulse based telling you it feels uncomfortable with how close you are.  in response it is suppose to make you uncomfortable as well as it begins to pulse a warning sign.

A new work in progress.

This is a new design that I am working on.  This is a translucent porcelain that was thrown, altered, and cast.  This piece is fired to cone 04 and then I set up a series of lights in each piece.  Right now I am working with an engineering student from the University of Iowa Ben Pearson on making this  piece and interactive piece, This piece will respond to the viewer based on the proximity of the viewer the closer the person gets to the piece the more the piece sends out a response.  Once the piece feels that the viewer is to close it feels a since of threat.  It then goes into a warning mode and warns the other pieces around it and the began to warn others.
